Positive Body Image Bound

It has been a long journey, but in hindsight I can look back and see moments in my life that tell me I was bound to be on this road. This is my path, my purpose, my mission. Educating and supporting girls, young ladies and women is what I was meant to do in this life. And although I thought it all started with a loved one’s eating disorder diagnosis and a personal career change, in truth, it began way before that. It began when I was like the girls that you see below. Silly. Serious. Carefree. Cautious. The mixed bag of emotions that come with being young and unsure of our peers and our authority. Who will judge us? Who will love us? Where do I begin and when will it end? These are precious years that to this day I have a love/hate relationship with. I am terrified when I walk into a high school to speak about body image. Luckily, I don’t think it shows. And thankfully, there are always those girls at the end of the talk that are willing to be goofy and oblige my efforts to encourage to not take life so seriously.

Below are the young women from Durango High School that attended my talk on Body Image. Thank you, ladies!0001_Photo_Divine_DHS_POW
