Rachel and Korrie (a true match made in Heaven)

Do you have one of those friends who makes you laugh so hard tears run down your legs? Does this person help you be your best self by listening and then gently holding up the mirror so you can take responsibility for your part in owning your life? Do you trust this person with ALL of your secrets, the beauty of yourself and the shadows? Would you give this person an organ if they needed it to live? Well, this person for me is Rachel and I didn’t have to give her an organ because her angel donor Korrie divinely came into her life and magically was a perfect match for a new/used kidney. These two new friends are going to be connected for the rest of their lives. It is beyond me how one person can so selflessly give to another, another she didn’t even know. This match of two kindred beings has given me the gift of truly embracing the concept of “trusting life and the divine plan.”

This process does not come with out some fear and doubt but it is lighted by hope and the prize of a extended life and expanded perspectives. I spent last week with Rachel and our boys. I invited Korrie and Rachel to be photographed for a personal project I am working on and they both were willing to participate. In true Kyla form I decided that I ceremony and celebration needed to take place before and incorporating the photo shoot. So we set the stage creating a sacred space with crystals, frankincense, candles and other yummy purposeful items for healing and well being. We shared fears and gratitudes. Then these two beautiful humans allowed me to photograph them together. For them I send love, light and healing for the surgery tomorrow morning 7:00a.m. on August 16, 2017. Please send your prayers and love their way.

I am so thankful and amazed that Korrie would so selflessly offer to become a donor and so very thankful that Rachel will have an opportunity at increased health and life.
