Welcome to the world baby T!

I was so excited to meet this baby! Wesley and I adore “The Smiths” and have had the privilege to photograph their wedding, one pregnancy and both of their babies as newborns. I love photographing newborns… when they are naked against their Mamas. I love the photos of newborns in baskets and other cute poses that make you want to gobble them up. However, I feel it is important to share that these photos take time and patience to do right and often they seem like a form of baby torture (to me.) Those of you reading this have officially decided not to have me as your photographer now, right? Well let me explain. I know for a fact that Anne Geddes (famous for dressing up babies as flowers or butterflies other adorable baby bugs) has a studio with heated props that gently hold babies. A GIANT studio FULL of random heated props for newborns!! Ideal, and not a realistic investment for us. So the baby torture continues in the name of sweet treasured newborn photos that can truly only be captured in those first 10 days of life. After that babies catch on to our intentions and learn to stretch and dispute such actions. Ah, the things we do to remember how small and perfect our little ones are. Anyway, I love the result (obviously) but like to share the behind the scene story too, which involves a lot of Mama’s milk, cuddles and whispered sweet nothings so that everyone gets to enjoy an archive of baby photos!
